Fred and Alix Burns-Worsfold welcome you to join them at the Red Lion Hotel, Wainfleet, Skegness, Lincolnshire.  Wainfleet is situated within the East Lindsey District, of the county, the Coastal District of Mid-Lincolnshire and Skegness is just 5 miles away. This seaside resort boasts some of the finest stretches of sandy beaches in the UK and still has the traditional features of an English Holiday destination. From Donkey rides on the beach to all the fun of the fair, you’ll find them all here. The Embassy Theatre attracts many of the popular artists  making The Red Lion a perfect place to stay overnight if you want to spend an evening at a show. Perhaps you prefer to spend your time relaxing in the country unwinding from the hussle and bustle of the big cities, Wainfleet is an ideal place to visit the surrounding area which has much to offer for Holiday Makers and Touring Guests alike.

The Red Lion Hotel dates back to the 17^th Century and is a grade two listed building. It was already an inn in 1667 when Landlord John Racee issued his own tokens. The Angel Hotel, next door and now closed, was the Barkham family home in 1597.  It became an Inn in the 18^th Centuary and Sir Edward Barkham was Mayor of London 1621 - 1622.  In 1732 a later Edward Barkham left the family Wainfleet Estates to Bethlem Hospital in London.

 There is a wealth of bird life in the area from the birds of the wetlands on the fens to the sea birds on the coast, and Gibralter Point, the  RSPB Nature Reserve, is only a short drive away. Whilst staying at the Red Lion, you may be lucky enough to spot our pair of long tailed Tits of which we are very proud.

Fred and Alix have recently taken over the Red Lion Hotel and are keen to offer their guests a top quality service whether you are staying for Bed and Breakfast or decide to visit us and sample our fare before returning home, you will be offered the same high standard of hospitality.

Should you wish to celebrate a special event Alix can offer a selection of Occasion Cakes for you to order ( 4 weeks notice required minimum please) from Wedding Cakes to 21^st. Birthday, Retirement, Christenings, etc. a member of the Sugar Guild for some years Alix is able offer you the choice of exquisite handmade sugar flowers for your cake alternatively she is able to deliver a variety of cake decorations to make your cake personal to your event.

The Red Lion Hotel accommodation comprises of  5 double letting rooms, 4 with en-suite, one of which is a family room in that it has a double bed and a single bed for use.  The hotel has recently had  Wi Fi connected for ease of our commercial guests in particular. Should you require this facility please ask a member of staff for assistance. 

Rooms are book able in advance and come with a supply of towels and tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary toiletries, a hairdryer or iron is available upon request.

Breakfast is served from 7 - 9 a.m. although earlier provision may be possible by arrangement.

The full range of Breakfast items is offered from choice of Fruit Juices, a variety of Cereals, choice of hot food items e.g. bacon sandwich, through to a full cooked English Breakfast. Continental Option also available including Danish Pastries and the delicious locally produced Wainfleet Honey for your Toast.
